Liz Perrett
Executive Director
Liz Perrett has over 10 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse recovery field. She has a passion for paving the way for others to achieve a life free of drugs and alcohol. Liz has served in various roles throughout her career, including residential management, and has served as director of admissions of a nationally renowned residential treatment center. Through her compassionate leadership style and hands-on approach, she is able to support NorthStar’s clients in being the best and healthiest versions of themselves. Liz’s expertise in leadership, staff development, and operations creates a strong foundation to support the talented staff at NorthStar Clinical Services.
Dr. Richard Wynn
Medical Director
Dr. Richard Wynn is recognized as an expert in the management of diabetes, chronic pain, and obesity and is skilled in performing minor office surgeries. He has served as a mentor and preceptor to many medical students and residents and serves as adjunct faculty in the Department of Family Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Shirlee earned her master’s degree in counseling with a specialization in addiction studies from Arizona State University in 2011. Over the years, she has cultivated expertise in assessing and treating individuals struggling with substance abuse. Her journey involves continuous learning, clinical experience, and dedication to the field of addiction. Armed with a comprehensive background in psychology and counseling, Shirlee’s career has been centered on helping individuals and their families navigate the complex terrain of addiction. From hosting client interventions, fostering recovery, and advocating for destigmatizing addiction in our society to program development, her commitment to fostering recovery and supporting those in need has been unwavering. As a seasoned expert, she utilizes the latest research and therapeutic approaches from academia to provide effective and compassionate care at NorthStar Clinical Services.
Georgia Caldwell, MS, CADC
Counselor
Georgia Caldwell has been a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor for more than 16 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in substance abuse counseling from St. Cloud State University and a master’s in fine arts from the Academy of Art University. Georgia is currently pursuing her masters in mental health counseling. By providing individuals and families with the education, support, and resources they need, she helps them achieve their wellness goals. She believes co-occurring disorders not only affect the quality of life of the individual but also family and friends. Georgia is dedicated to a holistic approach to serving individuals and families.
